My horse is overweight
Excess weight creeps up on you: a cresty neck, ribs you can hardly feel, less supple movement. Sometimes a lack of exercise is to blame, but the ration often plays a big part. Too much sugar and starch, too little crude fibre. The answer isn't simply less, but different: fibre-rich, low in sugar and starch, with all the vitamins and minerals.
- Ribs can barely be felt, if at all
- Fat deposits on the neck or behind the withers
- Sweats quickly, sluggish in movement
A good basic ration often does most of the work.
Three products, each with its own role: a fibre-rich base, satiety through more chewing, and a top-up for whatever the ration lacks.
Ratio = share of this product within the package, by weight, for a 600 kg horse. Hay is not included.
